This article walks teachers through when to use the Import Students/Rosters tool. Below are scenarios based on the academic year, but how you use the tool may vary.
New Year or New Semester
Option 1:
It's a new year or semester, and I need to add non-existing student accounts and roster new classes through the import.
Throughout the year, I have a few non-existing student accounts to add.
For Open Learning programs, you can add individual students by following the steps on the Manage Class Roster article.
For ConnectED programs, you'll need to use the Import Students/Rosters tool or reach out to your Organization or School Admin to add individual student accounts.

End of the Year
It's the end of the yearÌýand I need to remove students from my class and content.
If you're using Open Learning programs, instead of removing students we recommend archiving the class. This will allow you to keep the students attached to the class to be able to access student reports.
