MH Assess - Edit an Assessment

Discover how to edit and update existing assessments in MH Assess.

Find an Existing Assessment

1. Launch your course.

2. Click on ´¡²õ²õ±ð²õ²õ³¾±ð²Ô³Ù²õÌýfrom the navigation menu.

For certain programs, you will need to click on Assess,ÌýAssessment, ´Ç°ùÌýOnline Assessment Center.

3. Click on the test bank °Õ¾±³Ù±ô±ðÌýfrom the list provided.

You can also use ³Ù³ó±ðÌýSearch By Title field to locate a specific assessment.

In addition to ³Ù³ó±ðÌýSearch By Title field within a test bank, you can select ¹ó¾±±ô³Ù±ð°ù²õÌýto locate a specific type of assessment.

From within the test bank, click on the test Title you want to make edits to -

or click on the Options menu icon in the Action column and click Edit from the menu.

Add Existing Questions

1. Click ³Ù³ó±ðÌýAdd QuestionÌý²ú³Ü³Ù³Ù´Ç²Ô.

2. Click on Add Existing Question from the menu.

3. Click ³Ù³ó±ðÌýAdd FromÌý²ú³Ü³Ù³Ù´Ç²Ô.

4. Click on Questions,ÌýAssessments, ´Ç°ùÌý±Ê²¹²õ²õ²¹²µ±ð²õÌýbased on where you want to pull questions from.

5. Click ³Ù³ó±ðÌýSelect Bank button and select the assessment bank you want the questions from.

If you select Passages, you will only be able to select passages from ³Ù³ó±ðÌýMy PassagesÌý²ú²¹²Ô°ì.

If you select Assessments, you will also need to choose an option from ³Ù³ó±ðÌýSelect AssessmentÌý»å°ù´Ç±è-»å´Ç·É²Ô.

6. Check the box next to ³Ù³ó±ðÌý²Ï³Ü±ð²õ³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô²õÌýyou want to add to the assessment.

A. To help locate the questions you want, use the Search By Title field and ³Ù³ó±ðÌýFilters.

7. Click ³Ù³ó±ðÌý´¡»å»åÌýbutton at the top-right.

B. Click ³Ù³ó±ðÌýPreview All button to view the selected questions.

C. Click on ³Ù³ó±ðÌý²Ï³Ü±ð²õ³Ù¾±´Ç²ÔÌýto preview the question.

When previewing the questions, you will be able to toggle between seeing ³Ù³ó±ðÌýStudent Digital,ÌýCorrect Answer, ²¹²Ô»åÌýStudent PrintÌý±¹¾±±ð·É²õ.

Add New Questions

1. Click ³Ù³ó±ðÌýAdd QuestionÌý²ú³Ü³Ù³Ù´Ç²Ô.

2. Click on Create New Question from the menu.

As an alternative, you can create a New Question from under ³Ù³ó±ðÌý²Ï³Ü±ð²õ³Ù¾±´Ç²ÔÌýtab on ³Ù³ó±ðÌý´¡²õ²õ±ð²õ²õ³¾±ð²Ô³Ù²õÌýpage. You will then be able to follow the steps in ³Ù³ó±ðÌýAdd Existing Question section to add the question to the assessment.

3. Select the preferred Question Type from the drop-down. Review ³Ù³ó±ðÌýMH Assess - Question Types article for details on each option.

4. Enter ³Ù³ó±ðÌýQuestion Text.

5. Depending on the question option selected, enter ³Ù³ó±ðÌýAnswer choices.

6. Click ³Ù³ó±ðÌýX next to the correct Answer choice so that it shows a checkmark.

A. Toggle on ¸é±ð²¹²õ´Ç²ÔÌýto add a reason for each Answer choice.

B. Toggle on to ³§³ó³Ü´Ú´Ú±ô±ðÌý³Ù³ó±ðÌýAnswer choices.

For certain question types, you will need to enter a Response text limit and to create an Example Response.

7. Enter a Hint,ÌýExample, and/´Ç°ùÌýExplanation. Click the Continue button after each entry for it to save. These are optional.

8. Add a ·¡³æ¾±²õ³Ù¾±²Ô²µÌý´Ç°ùÌýNew Passage. This is optional.

9. For certain question types, select the preferred ³§³¦´Ç°ù¾±²Ô²µÌýoption from the drop-down. Refer to ³Ù³ó±ðÌýMH Assess - Advanced Scoring article for details on each of the scoring options.

10. For some question types, you have the option to add a Rubric.

11. Enter ³Ù³ó±ðÌý±Ê´Ç¾±²Ô³Ù²õÌýthe question should be worth.

12. Click ³Ù³ó±ðÌý³§²¹±¹±ðÌýbutton at the top or bottom of the page.

Edit Question

1. To make changes to a question on the assessment, click ³Ù³ó±ðÌý·¡»å¾±³ÙÌýbutton.

2. Make any preferred changes to the fields.

3. Click ³Ù³ó±ðÌý³§²¹±¹±ðÌýbutton at the top or bottom of the page.

If changes are made to an assessment question, a copy of the edited question can be found in your My QuestionsÌý´Ú´Ç±ô»å±ð°ù.

Link Questions

1. To link one question to the next, click ³Ù³ó±ðÌýLink ²Ï³Ü±ð²õ³Ù¾±´Ç²ÔÌýbutton.

2. Click Next Question from the menu.

3. On ³Ù³ó±ðÌýQuestion Link pop-up, verify the questions you are wanting to link together.

If you want to set Dependent scoring between the linked questions, check the box. You will then need to select ´Ú³Ü±ô±ôÌý´Ç°ùÌý±è²¹°ù³Ù¾±²¹±ôÌýfor credit from the drop-down.

4. Click ³Ù³ó±ðÌýCreate LinkÌý²ú³Ü³Ù³Ù´Ç²Ô.

If questions have been linked, you will see a link icon next to the Question header.

Change Link Conditions

1. Click ³Ù³ó±ðÌýEdit LinkÌý²ú³Ü³Ù³Ù´Ç²Ô.

2. Click on Edit Conditions from the menu.

3. On ³Ù³ó±ðÌýQuestion Link pop-up, make preferred changes.

4. Click ³Ù³ó±ðÌý³§²¹±¹±ðÌýbutton to confirm any changes made.

Unlink Questions

1. Click ³Ù³ó±ðÌýEdit LinkÌý²ú³Ü³Ù³Ù´Ç²Ô.

2. Click on Unlink from the menu.

You can also click ³Ù³ó±ðÌý±«²Ô±ô¾±²Ô°ìÌýbutton on ³Ù³ó±ðÌýQuestion LinkÌý±è´Ç±è-³Ü±è.

Remove a Question

1. To delete a question from an assessment, click ³Ù³ó±ðÌý¸é±ð³¾´Ç±¹±ðÌýbutton.

Keep in mind, if you accidentally removed the question, you will need to go through adding the question back to the assessment.

Copy a Question

To copy a question, click the °ä´Ç±è²âÌýbutton.

The duplicate of the question will be directly below the original with (copy) above the question text.

Create a Section

If you want multiple parts within an assessment to group questions together, you will want to create a new section.

1. Click ³Ù³ó±ðÌýAdd Section button at the top-right.

2. On ³Ù³ó±ðÌýAdd Section pop-up, enter an Introduction.

These are instructions students will see before they start the questions for that section.

3. Check the box next to any Student Tools you would like them to have access to for that section.

4. Click ³Ù³ó±ðÌý´¡»å»åÌýbutton.

The section will be added to the bottom of the assessment.

5. Any questions added will automatically go into the new section.

Click ³Ù³ó±ðÌýup/down arrow to the right of the section name to reorder the sections.

Edit a Section

1. Click Edit Section (pencil icon).

2. Make preferred changes to ³Ù³ó±ðÌý±õ²Ô³Ù°ù´Ç»å³Ü³¦³Ù¾±´Ç²ÔÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýStudent Tools.

3. Click ³Ù³ó±ðÌý³§²¹±¹±ðÌýbutton to confirm changes.

Delete a Section

When deleting a section you want to keep in mind that it will also remove all questions associated to that section.

1. Click Delete Section (trash can icon).

2. On ³Ù³ó±ðÌý¶Ù±ð±ô±ð³Ù±ðÌýpop-up, click ³Ù³ó±ðÌýYes, Delete button to confirm.
