6. Select the Daily time limit for the entire QuickTables session (including games) from the drop-down. The default is set to 15 mins.

You can limit the amount of time per day that students can spend on QuickTables. Students may learn their tables more effectively through shorter sessions spread out over a longer period of time.

Shorter sessions in QuickTables allow students more time to work on their core ALEKS course work.

7. Select the Maximum number of days QuickTables can be used each week from the drop-down. The default is set to 3 days.

8. Select a tutor character by clicking the radio button beneath the image.

Students will be assisted throughout QuickTables by one of these characters. Please choose the default character you would like your students to see. It can be changed by the student. Also, select the characters you would like your students to be able to choose from.

9. Check/uncheck if you want/don't want the character image to be available to students.

10. Select the Minimum time to spend on a daily session before games are available from the drop-down. The default is set to 10 mins.

QuickTables offers several games in which students practice the facts they have been learning. Each play of a game lasts about one minute.

You might want the student to work a little during a daily QuickTables session before having access to the games for that session. You can set the minimum length of time the student has to work.

Note: If you choose a time greater than the daily time limit for the entire session (first setting at the top of the page), the student will never have access to the games.

11. Select the Maximum number of games per daily session from the drop-down. The default is set to 6 games.

As a student progresses in QuickTables, they are given access to a greater variety of games. You can limit the number of times a student can play the games in a daily QuickTables session.

12. Select the radio button for when to Reset high score chart. The default is set to Weekly.

Every game has its own individual high score chart. Students can see the high score chart within the game menu. The high score chart shows the names of the students, in this class, with the highest scores in the current game. Only the top 5 scores are displayed.

Resetting the high score chart removes top performing students from the chart. It also provides a new opportunity for other students to see their names on the top 5. This may help keep students motivated.

A Retention Assessment is automatically given to a student a certain amount of time after the student completes a table. The goal is to assess the student's long-term progress of the table.

If the student does not score 100% on a Retention Assessment, then they must complete the table again before another Retention Assessment is given.

13. Select the Number of Retention Assessments to be given from the drop-down. The default is set to 2.

14. Select the Amount of time between table completion and Retention Assessment from the drop-down. The default is set to 30 days.

15. Select the Where the Retention Assessment(s) can be taken radio button for Anywhere or In school only.

Choose "In school only" to require students to take Retention Assessments using a school computer.

Note: To use this option, the domain name or IP address needs to be entered for your school computers. Your school administrator for ALEKS must enter this information.

16. Click the Save button.
