ALEKS - Set Permanent Student Passwords

Set permanent student passwords in ALEKS to ensure consistent access.

This article applies to districts that useÌýDirect Login and Manual Rostering. Direct Login means that teachers, students, and administrators log in atÌý. Manual Rostering means that teachers manually redeem program content and roster their own classes.

This article walks teachers through setting permanent student passwords for ALEKS.

You can also create permanent passwords for students by following theÌýImport Students/RostersÌýsteps. However, keep in mind, if the student already has an account created, adding a password through this process will only make it a temporary password.

When setting a permanent password, refer to theÌýPassword PolicyÌýarticle for requirements.

Note:ÌýMaking adjustments to the student's Name, Student ID, Username, and Password changes these fields for all classes they are assigned to.

1. Sign into your account at .

2. Click onÌýClassroom Actions.

3. Click onÌýManage Class RosterÌýfrom the menu.

4. Click theÌýOptionsÌýicon in theÌýActionsÌýcolumn to the right of the student.

5. ClickÌýEdit StudentÌýfrom the menu.

6. On theÌýEdit StudentÌýpage, enter the preferredÌýPasswordÌýfor the student.

7. Click theÌýUpdateÌýbutton at the bottom.
