ReadAnywhere App - Instructions for Direct Login Districts

Use the ReadAnywhere app in direct login districts to access digital content offline or online.

This article walks Direct Login users through how to install and log in to the ReadAnywhere app, download content, and use the app. This app only allows access to Connect and some Open Learning courses.听

Introduction

Most 糖心Vlog K-12 Open Learning programs offer a mobile version of the course eBooks. The 糖心Vlog ReadAnywhere app enables you to download and view eBooks, even when you鈥檙e not connected to the internet. In addition to offline access, students will not be able to annotate and complete work in their eBook that will sync with the platform once the student is back online. Be aware that the 糖心Vlog ReadAnywhere app does not include planning, assigning, or testing capabilities.

Install the App

Follow the steps below to install the ReadAnywhere app on a device running a supported operating system. Go to听糖心Vlog System Requirements听to check the system requirements.听If your device meets the system requirements:

2. You can search for "ReadyAnywhere" or use the following direct links:听

4. Follow your normal process to install the 糖心Vlog ReadAnywhere app.

Log In

1. Launch the听Read Anywhere app.

2. Enter your username and password.听This is the same username and password you use to sign in at听.

You can access the 糖心Vlog ReadAnywhere app from the web browser if you're using a device such as a tablet, iPad, or Chromebook by signing into your account and clicking the Read Anywhere app button.听

If you are a student that is assigned听Simplified Login, you will need to follow the steps on听how to sign in using Simplified Login. Once you have signed in through your Simplified Login, you will then be able to launch the app by clicking on the听Read Anywhere听button.

Note: If you are an SSO user, you will need to follow the steps in the ReadAnywhere App - Instructions for Single Sign-On (SSO) Districts article.

Download Sections

The Library page contains all of your licensed eBooks. If your account has several books, select the title you wish to access. A program may have one or more eBooks. In the table of contents, tap the download icon next to the eBook section to begin the download process. Click the 鈥淒ownload All鈥 button at the top of the list in the book table of contents to download all sections. Be aware that it may take several minutes to download each section depending on the download speed in your current location. You will need to remain connected to the internet while downloading the section.

Remove Sections

To provide offline access, eBooks and sections are downloaded and saved on your device. The number of books that can be downloaded is dependent on the amount of storage space on your device. To remove eBooks and sections, and free up storage space on your device, click on the title of the program you would like to remove. In the table of contents, the 3-line icon at the top-left, swipe left on the section you wish to remove and click the 鈥淒elete鈥 button.

Open Books and Resources

To open a downloaded eBook or section, select the book title from the Library page. Keep in mind that functionality may be limited based on the device. Greater functionality is provided by accessing the Open Learning program using a web browser on the device.听

Access Through Web Browser

It鈥檚 recommended that teachers access Open Learning program resources, such as videos and worksheets, using a web browser.

Greater functionality is also provided by accessing the Open Learning program using a web browser on the device for students as accessing assignments is limited. The ReadAnywhere app is only capable of showing assignments for a limited set of courses that contain a particular type of content. Other types of assignments cannot be completed within ReadAnywhere and should be completed through a web browser.

1. Launch the Chrome鈩 browser and log in to your district's LMS or SSO portal.

2. Select the SSO link to access your ConnectED program.

3. Navigate to class and program resources just as you would on a computer or laptop.

Third-Party Apps

Resources open up as PDFs on mobile devices. There are a wide variety of apps that enable users to save and annotate PDF content. A few apps that store content include Dropbox, Google听Drive鈩, Microsoft OneDrive鈩, Evernote, and iCloud. Annotation and note-taking apps include PDF Writer, Adobe听Reader, Pages, Evernote, Microsoft OneNote鈩, Notability, Google Docs鈩, Google Keep鈩, and Simplenote, to name a few.

Offline Access

Student eBooks can be viewed without an internet connection. Be sure to download eBooks completely before going offline. Students can annotate and complete work in their eBook while offline. All work completed offline in the eBook will synchronize with the platform once the student is back online and has logged into the app.

Teachers and students need to remain logged into the app if they plan to view eBooks offline. If a user logs out of the app, an internet connection is required to log back in.
